BAILS TALES - MARCH - "NEW CHAIR AT BAIL"
We must confess to an element of nervousness as we write this edition of BAIL’s Tales. This is due to attending Professor Gerben DeJong’s writing seminar yesterday and thinking that all those who attended will now be reading this with a totally different perspective. Prof DeJong is the author or co-author of 250 papers on health policy, health care financing, post-acute rehabilitation, and health outcomes and the reviewer of countless more. His skill, experience and wisdom certainly shine through and his thoughtful, engaging manner is inspiring. We do hope you get the chance to catch him while he is here, contact hans@burwood.org.nz for more details.
We are also pleased to advise our friends at Burwood that Julian Verkaaik, who is known to many of you from his days at the Allan Bean Centre, has stepped into the large boots of George Scrimshaw as Chair of the BAIL Trust Board. George, a founding trustee, retired from his position of Chair and Trustee in the New Year. The Board and Staff are extremely grateful to George for his years of service and we will miss his regular order of coffee “I like it black like my rugby team”. Finally do keep your calendar clear for the Allan Clark Memorial Lecture Thursday 11th April at 5pm. It will be advertised through the usual channels.
