People in Disasters Conference

The People in Disasters Conference, held at the Air Force Museum at Wigram from the 24th-26th February, was timed to follow the 5th Anniversary of the Christchurch earthquake. This was especially poignant following the recent shakes in Christchurch. The conference brought together researchers from a variety of backgrounds with a common interest in disaster research. It was great to hear of the resilience of the people in Christchurch and how the combined work of many researchers may help other communities recover from disasters in the future. Johnny Bourke and Jo Nunnerley both presented results from their PhD research.
